Effectively Wild Wiki

The Past Blast was a brief segment that highlighted events in baseball history from the year that matched the episode number. It ran from Episode 1856 to Episode 2023, after which the segment was replaced with the Future Blast.

The name is a pun on the long-running Stat Blast segment.

The Past Blast segment did not have a name when it began in Episode 1856. Listeners offered a number of suggestions, and Ben chose the name "Past Blast", introducing it in Episode 1861.
